Counseling Services
Asking for counseling can be a difficult task. We believe that seeking help for some of the issues you are facing can be made easier if you know what to expect from our service.
The first few times you come in for counseling will be focused on gathering information. This will include information about your personal and social history. Counseling sessions run approximately fifty-five (55) minutes in length. The total number of times you will come in for counseling depends on the types of issues you are working on and the goals you set.
Some people come to counseling believing the problem will be "fixed" in a couple of sessions or by some advice given by the counselor. In general, we do not give advice but rather help you to work out your unique solutions to the particular issues which brought you in . If a problem is serious enough to seek some professional help, it has probably taken a long time to develop and will take a while to resolve. We don't offer a "quick fix" or a "miracle cure", but help you develop your resources to resolve your unique issues on the foundation of God's care and compassion.
