Young Life Capernum Greater Seattle is a ministry dedicated to opening the door of faith in Christ for teens with physical and/or developmental disabilities.  The staff and volunteer leaders seek to build unconditional friendships with these young people who are so often forgotten and ignored by our society.  Teens with disabilities have the opportunity to participate in weekly clubs, special events, small group Bible studies, as well as winter and summer camps.

Young Life Capernum has been in existence in Seattle since 1995.  There are four main high schools that Seattle Capernum outreaches to - Nathan Hale, Ballard, Shorecrest, and Shorewood.  There is also a Beyond Capernum Club for students who are 21 and older.  Young Life Capernum's vision is to reach more kids and families throughout the greater Seattle area.

One of the most important aspects of this ministry is to provide kids and parents the opportunity to hear and experience the love of Christ.  Most of the kids we work with spend their teen years at school and at home.  They rarely, if ever, have the opportunity to develop friendships let alone experience God's love for them.  That is what Young Life Capernum is all about.

Blaine Clyde is the founding director of the Seattle Ministry and has been on Young Life staff since 1991.  Blaine is married to Susan and they have two children, Anna and Evan.
